<figure><img src="https://2516160394-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmAOqTQkYofJrevcpklA7%2Fuploads%2FZwSI6Wi0P7rdAQVfbN9w%2FScreenshot%202024-02-22%20at%2010.46.56.png?alt=media&#x26;token=e8eb880b-e007-4b67-807d-6eb637a9d45d" alt=""><figcaption><p>Topics Section</p></figcaption></figure>

To access the Topic Section, click on the **third** **icon** from the top, in the Left Sidebar of the Advisor.&#x20;

This is an alternative way to **explore** data on Crystal, along with [Suggestions](https://docs.igenius.ai/crystal-advisor/explore-your-data/suggestions) and [Past Questions](https://docs.igenius.ai/crystal-advisor/explore-your-data/past-questions).

The Topic Section presents a comprehensive **overview** of all the [Topics](https://docs.igenius.ai/fundamentals/crystal-topics) that you can ask on Crystal, grouped by Topic Collection.&#x20;

This is where you can also **manage** your Topics in various ways.

{% hint style="warning" %} <mark style="color:orange;">**Remember**</mark>

* This section collects only Configured Topics, i.e. the ones that have been manually [created by the Admin](https://docs.igenius.ai/crystal-console/topics-configuration), whereas[ auto-generated Topics](https://docs.igenius.ai/crystal-advisor/talk-to-your-data/conversation/request-topics/entity-based-conversation) are not included.
* Both Topics and Filters shown in this section depend on your *viewing permissions* set for your account by the Admin.
  {% endhint %}

## Entity List

All the Topics in this section are divided into collections based on the *Entities they contain*.

Therefore, the Entity List is the first section you will encounter when opening the Topic Section.

Each Entity is listed *alphabetically* and will show you the *number* of Topics inside the collection.

<figure><img src="https://2516160394-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmAOqTQkYofJrevcpklA7%2Fuploads%2FwVVPOSxnSDay6KAXuTwv%2FScreenshot%202024-02-22%20at%2011.06.35.png?alt=media&#x26;token=8198882c-e767-4b5c-8993-d0dfdeb10696" alt="" width="563"><figcaption><p>Topics List</p></figcaption></figure>

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="color:blue;">**Please Note**</mark>

Text Topics are *not* displayed in the Topic Section.
{% endhint %}

### Filter Topics

You can also filter Topics by applying [Filters](https://docs.igenius.ai/fundamentals/crystal-topics), either Time Ranges or Dynamic Filters.

{% hint style="info" %} <mark style="color:blue;">**Please Note**</mark>&#x20;

The Filters applied will affect the *whole list of Topics* inside the collection.

Changes will also be *permanent* until a new filtet is selected.
{% endhint %}

#### Time Range

At the top right of the Topic section, you will find the Time Range button showing the *start* and the *end* *dates* currently applied to the Topic list.

<figure><img src="https://2516160394-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmAOqTQkYofJrevcpklA7%2Fuploads%2FpU6HJ2l11P9uCDrVcVnb%2FScreenshot%202024-02-22%20at%2011.28.23.png?alt=media&#x26;token=e19e710f-cb13-4c15-8eb4-09a78c566c30" alt="" width="563"><figcaption><p>Apply Time Range on Topics List</p></figcaption></figure>

When you click on the button, you will see a list of *time frame presets*, allowing you to select a standard time range for all of the topics within the section.

The time frame presets, which include *the current year*, *the previous year*, *the previous 6 months*, *the previous 3 months*, and *previous month* are calculated from the current day.&#x20;

For example: if the request is done on 08.11.2022, the last year's filter will go back to 08.11.2021.

Additionally, you can also select the *Custom* option, and select a date of your choice.

Finally, you will be able to select dates in the *future***,** when possible.

#### Dynamic Filters

When available, you can apply *one or more filters* to your Topics.

<figure><img src="https://2516160394-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FmAOqTQkYofJrevcpklA7%2Fuploads%2FLSr2OuvuAy29w7Uvy5Ew%2FScreenshot%202024-02-22%20at%2011.29.04.png?alt=media&#x26;token=43b151b3-2966-40fc-b5d6-12ddba07da0b" alt="" width="563"><figcaption><p>Apply Dynamic Filter on Topics List</p></figcaption></figure>

Filters are organized by *filter name:* e.g. Sales Agent, Forecast Month, Account, etc.&#x20;

The *Search Bar* may help you to speed up your Filter research if there are too many Filters.&#x20;

For each Filter, you can select a specific *value*.&#x20;

Just click on the drop-down menu button, on the right side of the filter, choose the ones you want, and click on *"Select"* to confirm.

You can also apply multiple values from multiple Filters.

To finalize the operation, select as many values as you need, then click on the *"Apply"* button down below.

You can also *remove* one or more Filters and / or Filter values in different ways:

* By manually un-selecting each of them inside the Filter space&#x20;
* In bulk, by clicking on the *"Clear"* button or on the *"X"* button.

These last two actions will result in the removal all of the values selected inside that filter.

Otherwise, click on *"Clear all"* to completely remove all the filters applied.
