To access the Topic Section, click on the third icon from the top, in the Left Sidebar of the Advisor.
This is an alternative way to explore data on Crystal, along with Suggestions and Past Questions.
The Topic Section presents a comprehensive overview of all the Topics that you can ask on Crystal, grouped by Topic Collection.
This is where you can also manage your Topics in various ways.
Remember
This section collects only Configured Topics, i.e. the ones that have been manually created by the Admin, whereas auto-generated Topics are not included.
Both Topics and Filters shown in this section depend on your viewing permissions set for your account by the Admin.
All the Topics in this section are divided into collections based on the Entities they contain.
Therefore, the Entity List is the first section you will encounter when opening the Topic Section.
Each Entity is listed alphabetically and will show you the number of Topics inside the collection.
After clicking on an Entity in the list, the full list of Topics associated to it will open up.
Please Note
Text Topics are not displayed in the Topic Section.
You can manage each collection by searching, reordering, and filtering the Topics inside each collection.
You can search the Topic you need by writing in the Search Bar on the top left of the Section.
Crystal will be able to find the Topics that contain the words you type.
You can customize the order in which the Topics are displayed within each Entity Section.
Just click on the related icon placed on the top right of each Entity Section to sort your Topics in the order you want.
The changes applied will be permanent until changed again.
You can also filter Topics by applying Filters, either Time Ranges or Dynamic Filters.
Please Note
The Filters applied will affect the whole list of Topics inside the collection.
Changes will also be permanent until a new filtet is selected.
At the top right of the Topic section, you will find the Time Range button showing the start and the end dates currently applied to the Topic list.
When you click on the button, you will see a list of time frame presets, allowing you to select a standard time range for all of the topics within the section.
The time frame presets, which include the current year, the previous year, the previous 6 months, the previous 3 months, and previous month are calculated from the current day.
For example: if the request is done on 08.11.2022, the last year's filter will go back to 08.11.2021.
Additionally, you can also select the Custom option, and select a date of your choice.
Finally, you will be able to select dates in the future, when possible.
When available, you can apply one or more filters to your Topics.
Filters are organized by filter name: e.g. Sales Agent, Forecast Month, Account, etc.
The Search Bar may help you to speed up your Filter research if there are too many Filters.
For each Filter, you can select a specific value.
Just click on the drop-down menu button, on the right side of the filter, choose the ones you want, and click on "Select" to confirm.
You can also apply multiple values from multiple Filters.
To finalize the operation, select as many values as you need, then click on the "Apply" button down below.
You can also remove one or more Filters and / or Filter values in different ways:
By manually un-selecting each of them inside the Filter space
In bulk, by clicking on the "Clear" button or on the "X" button.
These last two actions will result in the removal all of the values selected inside that filter.
Otherwise, click on "Clear all" to completely remove all the filters applied.
