Below are the new features and bugs fixed in the latest version of Crystal for Web, divided into Members and Admins.

For Members

🆕 Collapsible Sidebar

You can now hide or expand the sidebar based on your needs, allowing for a more fluid and clean experience.

This way, the Advisor workspace becomes more manageable: you can hide the sidebar by clicking on the arrow icon to make room for a deeper focus on your analysis, and when you are ready to access insights and suggestions, you can expand the panel back into view.

✔️ Numeric entity value now visible for Comparison (single column) topics

Before - when hoovering the columns within the chart, you couldn’t see the corresponding numeric value.

✔️ Consistent custom time range when logging out or refreshing the Advisor

Before - when you opened the Topics section and set a custom time range and then either logged out and logged back in or refreshed the page, the custom time range was not saved. It used to revert to the default time range.

Now - when you log back in or refresh the page, you see the custom time range you previously set in the Topics section.

✔️ Contextual Answers in Disambiguation for Topics having the same entity

Before - if you had two similar topics configured, e.g. “Breakdown of sales by industry” and “Breakdown of sales by region”, and asked for the first topic and then specified an additional filter such as “and for region EU North”, Crystal would struggle to understand that the additional filter should be applied to the first topic, and would mistakenly switch to the second topic.

Now - when you make this request, Crystal recognizes that the additional filter relates to the topic initially requested. Which is to say, instead of changing the topic, Crystal keeps the focus on the original topic and applies the new filter (“Breakdown of sales by industry for region EU North”).

🆕 Double Time Filter

There’s a new enhancement to our time filter configuration!

When selecting the time filter in the Console, in addition to the start date, you can now add an end date column and apply one of the 3 following operators:

• Between: it allows you to get records where both the start date and the end date fall within the date range you specified. Example: you want to analyze sales data from December 1st to December 31st. If you use the “between” filter, Crystal will pull up sales records where the start date is on or after December 1st and the end date is on or before December 31st. For instance, if a holiday sale event starts on December 5th and ends on December 15th, Crystal will show it as it is included in the “between” filter.

• Includes: it allows you to get records where the start date and the end date strictly include the date range you specified. Example: you want to get an overview of all company events for the month of September. Using the “includes” filter and filtering by September, Crystal will show you records of all events with start date before September 1st and end date after September 30th, which is to say all events in which the whole month of September is included. For example, if an event starts on August 1st and ends on October 5th, it will be captured as it includes the whole month of September.

• Overlaps: it allows you to get records where either the start date or the end date, or both, fall within the date range you specified, or the start and end dates include that date range. Example: you want to have an overview of all events that overlap in the month of September. If you use the “overlap” filter, Crystal will show you all the events where either the start date, end date, or both are in September. For instance, if an event starts on September 15th and ends on October 1st, Crystal will show it as the start date is included in the range you specified.

Please note that the way you ask questions and apply time filters remains unchanged in the Advisor.

🆕 “Show more” available for big tables in the “Connect Table” step

When connecting tables in the Console, you can now enjoy a more clear and easy-to-use table display: when a table reaches a certain threshold of rows, it automatically adopts a more streamlined presentation. Only one single row remains visible, while the others are hidden.

If you want to see all elements, you only need to click on the "Show more" button.

Once you click on it, you’ll see a dialog box that lays out all the columns in a clean way and a search bar at the top, allowing you to quickly pinpoint specific data without the need to manually jump through every column.
